Earlier I posted about using meaningful work in the classroom with students. This was an idea I had gotten from listening to Randy Sprick. Thanks to a blog from The Real Teachers of Orange County, I have an incredible classroom jobs token economy system to share with you. This puts the idea of meaningful work into a completed classroom system. These ladies have done it all for you so you don't need to do a thing! They have made:
job applications
checkbook covers
check registers
pay checks
colorful price tags for your class store
job postings with descriptions
payroll to keep track of how much each job pays
gift certificates to use in the store
employee of the month poster
Check out the reproducible items now...

Student Check In For Understanding
Post this in your room and introduce the concept to the class. Then ask them to write a number on the top of their papers before they
turn them in. That way students don't risk embarrassment or refuse to ask
questions during class discussion. Thanks to I Love My Classroom for this neat idea!
How am I comprehending?
4 – I understand it.
I could teach this to my parents.
3 – I understand it.
2 – I think I get it,
but I’m still getting some
problems wrong.
